Linux

Linux is one of the most important developments in recent times, it takes the bases of unix systems as it moves itself to a more user-oriented development. Linux is a system that came out of the open source as it stands as the official embasador of the open source movement which gives high level structure to the end consumer for free.

With linux operating systems companies can have more stable and secure data as linux can be used for corporate use with high business applications such as Oracle 9i, sql (via mysql), networking (via Samba), strong yet flexible firewall (via smoothwall) and high level servers (via apache). It also offers developing tools such as PHP and Kylix (delphi) making companies department offer better and cheap solutions almost as soon as implemented new systems since documentation is also publicly available under GNU/GPL Licencing.

I have work with linux for almost a year and have discovered projects and have put me on a active developing position which otherwise wouldn't discover. I will start developing for open source projects within a year where I get a strong hold of developing scripting like python and ruby. I also have planed supporting my theorical networking knowledge using samba and sendmail-fetchmail to start administrate my own home network.

I am a member of different linux user groups as I find other experts who fuel and refine my computer skills. I work actively on linux communities as I have shown my strong organizational and managerial skills with smaller groups.
